Time to update that ol’ Verizon Palm Treo 755p

T755pupdate_verizon108Doesn’t everyone want an update that "improves the phone application, stability and device usability"? If you’re a Palm Treo 755p owner on Verizon, you’re in luck because Palm says that’s exactly what you’ll get. And I use the term "exactly" in a very generous way since the description doesn’t "exactly" say much. ;)

This upgrade is version 1.08 for those who are counting (even for those that aren’t) and the usual precautions when updating firmware apply: backup your data, keep your handset plugged in and allow a generous amount of time for the update. Palm also cautions users of IM and VersaMail: you’ll need to re-enter settings and passwords after the upgrade. But isn’t more stability and usability worth it? I’m actually hoping the next Palm OS allows for over-the-air updates that are incremental and not full flashes. Can you Palm folks get that in the design specs or is it too late?
