Gotta love FriendFeed and Twitter: I hear from Greg’s tweet that Google Contacts will now sync to the iPhone directly through iTunes 7.7. Just checked and sure enough, I see the option. Is Google Contacts the best application out there for PIM? Not by a long shot, but since it is integrated into Gmail and can easily be updated, I’m liking the looks of this. This would give me access to my contacts on my phone as well as on the web through any browser.

Mac OS X 10.5.3 added Google Contact syncing with the Mac Address Book, so this will be useful for folks not wanting to use Address Book at all.

  • OK, wait. WTF?!!? iTunes 7.7?!!? I just ran Apple Software Update. All it gave me was Safari! I opened iTunes and did Check for Updates and it tells me my 7.6.2 is the latest!! I can’t see no stinkin’ App Store! Do I need a frikkin badge or something?!!?

  • I can’t get this to work. It ask for my Google ID and keeps appending @gmail.com to it. It comes back as incorrect ID or password.

  • OK, wtf?! I have to go Apple’s site and do a MANUAL d/l of 7.7?! What’s up with that?! Watch it all blow up on me.

  • I have used this and I can say I don’t like it at all. It put a bunch of duplicate numbers and addresses in my phone. I manually reconciled on both ends and it still wants to all my contacts.
