Leather portfolio for the HP 2133 Mini-note
If you are one of those folks who picked up an HP 2133 Mini-note you’re probably loving it, at least I hope you’re finding it to be a useful device. If you’re like me though you’re wishing you had a nice, functional yet attractive way to carry it around. The folks at Carrymobile have you covered (at least your 2133) with their new leather portfolio case for the Mini-note. The case is $45 and it looks like they have versions for either the 3-cell or 6 cell battery. From the photos on their site it appears the case folds over for carrying yet when opened allows full access to the 2133. Check it out and see what you think about it.

I, too, became a Mini-Note user and needed a case, albeit not a protfolio type. I was looking for something big enough to carry a few extra items, but small enough to not be too cumbersome given the newer “light” mobility I enjoy with the Mini-Note.
I picked up the “TSM043US | Targus 13.3” radius Vertical Messenger”, which was intended for the 13″ MacBook. Here’s a link to those with interest…

I picked up mine at a local store

Given that the Mini gets rather hot, I wonder if putting it in a “leather suit” is the right thing to do?
I had and loved a Mini-Note, until I got mugged.
That case looks really slick, but I think you’re probably better off making the Mini-Note look LESS nice… the Mini-Note is eye-catching enough on its own!
After seeing a few light scuffs on my Mini carrying it in a totebag, I ended up making a slip case out of a couple of suede placemats, some fleece, and lining material. Not sure what to think when we have to resort to crafting our own cases…
I had a portfolio case like this for my Fujitsu P4020 and used it for about a week. But it had elastic straps that clutched the corners and had a habit of sliding off when the notebook was opened. This one wraps around the bottom much better.
Wouldn’t mind hearing how it works in real life.
I was a bit worried about this particular case because of the potential for excessive heat buildup. As all you mini-noters are well aware, this little beauty gets a bit warm on the undercarriage.
Anyway, I finally did or a “sleeve” for my mini-note. Still waiting on it…but check out

They do have custom sleeve sizes for both the 3-cell and 6-cell models. As I said, I’m still waiting on mine, so I can’t give it a proper review.
I agree with Pam. I would worry about heat depending on what happens with the vents on the side and bottom. I went with the sfbag she mentions, and should have it in a couple of days. I had it outfitted with D rings so I can add a strap and put it over my shoulder if needed.
Just noticed that Jon, not Pam made the post about the sleeve.
I picked up one from a company you recommended: WaterField Designs. It fits like a glove—I’m loving it.

The SFbag/WaterField bag was great for the MiniNote, like all of their bags I’ve tried so far.
Caselogic makes several portable DVD player cases that also do the job. I found a “no name” version for $10 at Target that works beautifully.
Can anyone with the SF bag tell us – does the bag form over the 6 cell battery or does it leave a space between the bag and the computer? It’s not that important, just wondering.
