Opera Mobile 9.5 delayed
We thought Opera Mobile 9.5 beta would be out by now but according to the Opera Mobile blog they have encountered some last minute show-stopping bugs that will delay its release to the public. Opera Mobile 9.5 looks to be a killer mobile browser that will give the iPhone’s Safari browser a real test but until we can get our hands on it that just won’t happen.
Some things in life don’t go according to plan — at least not insoftware development. We knew when we announced a release date beforewe finished development that a showstopper bug might be found thatcould alter the actual date we release the beta.
As you canimagine, we encountered a few bugs last week that we needed to fixbefore we launch. Our engineering team worked through the weekend tofix the bugs. Even though our release is a beta, we’d rather spend theextra time to fix them, thus giving you a better experience. The fixesare almost complete now, but we need two more days to run the buildthrough our quality assurance testing. The new launch date is now setfor the 17th.
We’re disappointed to delay, but fixing these bugs will improve the experience with our beta and let you fully test the browser.

I give up on Opera mobile. 8.65 has been out for over a year, still has lots of bugs and they have been promising various version 9’s forever. If MS would get their stuff together and actually release a good browser for windows mobile, this would not be such a problem.
My prediction, Opera will not release version 9.5 and will announce that they will ship 9.6 later this year.
If microsoft stuck a better browser on WinMo, people would be crying “monopoly”. As always. It’s a shame Opera is delayed again but, personally, I don’t really care anymore. First, various ppc sites have had several hacked versions available for download for quite some time. By and large, they work fine. That may be more of a reason it’s not released than anything else. Second, after several years I’ve finally had enough of HTC screwing it’s user base and I will no long purchase anything else they spit out. Since nearly everything WinMo comes from HTC, that pretty much kills WinMo for me, also. No big loss, there’s plenty of capable competition these days.

Try this. I’ve been using this for a month, and it’s pretty awesome. There are QVGA and VGA versions, as well as Xscale versions. I suggested this to Jenn at Pocketables.net, and she installed this on her HTC Shift without any problems. My friends and I have installed this on various HTC devices (Sprint Touch, Mogul, ATT Tilt) and it works really good. I wouldn’t say that it is as fluid as the iPhone’s Safari utilizing multi-touch and capacitive screen, but it definitely is the best web browser so far on WinMo.
Am loving Opera 9.5 on my X7510. It really zips along. Seems so simple too. No widgets yet, sadly. That will really make best use of the big screen experience.
will this mobile have safari browser..?
