Coffee break- Starbucks is a happy place once more
I mentioned a while back how depressing Starbucks stores have become since the coffee giant has announced they were closing 600 stores soon. The employees I have been interfacing with have not been as chipper as in the past, no doubt with worry playing a factor since Starbucks had not told anyone which stores would be closed. The corporate office made the list of closures available this week and I must say that the dispositions of the employees I’ve interacted with since have been downright happy, happy, joy, joy. I can’t blame them either as it must be as if a huge weight has been lifted off their shoulders. Kudos to Starbucks for making the list of closures public this far in advance as it can impact customer’s routines almost as much as employees’. I have to admit I was surprised to see that only six stores in Houston will be closing and none near me. I guess Houston is not as saturated as some markets.
I live in Shoreline (just North of Seattle) Washington. None of the stores in Shoreline are closing. Some in Seattle are. I’m a happy coffier.
I’m transferring to one near Manassas and the one NEXT to my future store is closing, phew, close call.
The ones near you aren’t closing because you’re virtually all their profits!! Now if you suddenly develop a Starbucks allergy, poof!, they’re gone! They should all hang your picture in their stores.
