Problems with the site
You may have noticed problems with the site this afternoon, particularly with the commenting system. TypePad had network problems creating this situation and we were also prevented from posting any new articles. This is why we didn’t inform you of the system-wide problem while it was happening. Things seem to be getting back to normal but if you see something a bit weird, like a lot of duplicate comments, please bear with us. Sorry for any frustration this has caused you.

Sorry about all the duplicate and triplicate posts. But trying this over and over again over the course of the day seemed like the only way to see if things got fixed.
