Palm Treo 800w gains Bluetooth voice dialing feature

Palmtreo800wAnybody remember using Microsoft’s Voice Command on a Windows Mobile phone? I thought it was the best thing since Compact Flash memory and it was one of the first apps I’d install on a device. The one bugger was that it was a pain to get voice dialing over Bluetooth working. Sprint Treo 800w owners won’t have that issue if they choose to add voice dialing with a download that just appeared today.

Personally, I’d love to see voice dialing capabilities in every handset from a safety perspective while driving. Do we have any Treo 800w owners that already gave this a try? My hope is that it’s better than the "record a voice tag" approach that I’ve had to use in the past. Considering it’s 2008, I suspect it is.

I have not used the 800w, but I do have MS Voice command on my Sprint touch, and it works over bluetooth great.

You don’t need to make voice tags – just say the name in the contact. You can also give other commands – like “open *name of app*” or “play coldplay”. Works like a charm.
