Create a flash diffuser with an old film canister

FilmcanisterflashdiffuserGot a pop-up flash on your digital camera? I have one on my relatively new DSLR but there are times when I’d love to diffuse the light a tad. Photojojo must have read my mind because they show a functional, but not terribly fashionable, option. Using an white film canister and a knife yields this do-it-yourself diffuser for the built-in flash. Looks like a cheap, handy solution until I can save up for a real flash & diffuser. Just make sure you don’t skip any instructions if you do this… especially the "get a WHITE film canister" part. I hear the dark ones don’t do the trick. ;)

  • Yes, please, get a real flash and diffuser. ;P

Honestly, from times of need, DESPERATE need, I do carry this around.

Whether it’s worth it or whether it works, is like a discussion between Mac versus PC, nevertheless, to me it’s better than direct flash. Once again, when I’m in DESPERATE need.

Either way, it probably does exactly what your post does. LOL but more expensive.
