World’s first and only HTC Touch Pro on AT&T?

Touchpro9

We’ve already seen one rumor debunked today, so maybe we’ll go two-for-two. Until we hear otherwise though, it looks like the HTC Touch Pro has surfaced in front of the phone paparazzi, courtesy of an XDA-Developer forum member whose wallet is $900 lighter today. From what I can see, the device has no front-facing camera on the outside and presumably supports the U.S. frequencies for EDGE and HSDPA on AT&T’s network.

While the TouchFlo 3D interface is nice, I had problems with the on-screen, soft keyboard shipped with the Touch Diamond. The Touch Pro addresses that with a hardware solution. The slider offers five rows of keys… maybe one too many in my book, but I can type like a banshee on the iPhone, so really: what do I know about keyboards anymore? ;)

This will be a ’swiss penknife’ of a phone and a great practical alternative to those steering clear of an iPhone.

I wish that HTC would include cameras with the photo and video capability of the N95s. I’d be really sold on this if they did!

Pic looks photoshopped. Look at the earpiece. Is that a bit of the gray background bleeding through? Also in the lower right…Is that an ebay watermark?

  • Might be fake, but I hope not for the buyer’s sake… and his $900. Yes, that is an eBay logo. In the XDA thread he indicates he bought this via eBay.
