FEBE backs up your Firefox environment to Box.net

Febe

Since I’m waiting for Mozilla’s Weave prototype to stabilize, this tip from Lifehacker is a nice way to keep my Firefox extensions available to me while on the go. Using the FEBE browser extension, you can have your other extensions saved automatically to a Box.net account. Since FEBE stands for Firefox Environment Backup Extension, it makes sense that it also keeps a copy of your bookmarks, themes, passwords, preferences and much more. In other words, it’s very similar to Weave, but without the server component to automatically keep everything in sync. Now working with Box.net, it essentially has a server component to store your profile info… sweet! You can configure which items you want FEBE to backup and also if you want daily, weekly or monthly backups. Definitely a new addition to my arsenal of extensions… at least while Weave is still under development.
