American Airlines launches in-flight WiFi

GigaOM tells us that American Airlines has at long last launched in-flight WiFi, at least on certain long domestic flights.  It will set you back $12.95 a flight too.  They have full details and some thoughts on getting your WiFi on while flying.

    Probably not sufficient for streaming web video. Wish someone would compare Boeing’s defunct service with these new ones in terms of speed/technology. Still haven’t found myself on JetBlue’s ONE plane with Internet after all these months. I think Virgin America is also about to come online with WiFi using the same provider as AA.
