PS. I always use the P1610 in slate mode, very rarely ever using it in laptop mode. I can easily monitor tracking devices, and page through notes in OneNote while tailing a subject, or arriving at a surveillance location.

I dock and undock my Fujitsu P1610 many times a day into a Ram vehicle mount. I usually rotate the screen every time I transport it. To me it is not much slower than hitting the switch to go into sleep mode, and I feel a little better about the safety of it. Mostly though, I think I feel better about that it actually is going to sleep. I could see in a James situation where he would prefer to leave it in slate mode. I personally like rotating the screen.

As soon as I saw the video I sent the link to friends of mine who own a remax franchise here in florida. He said he loved the vid and is testing this with one realtor in his business right now. very helpful for him to see this video.

As for storing in slate mode, JK do you use a screen protector? I think I’ve read in other posts that you dont correct?

I’ve transported mine for years that way without any trouble. I always use a bag with a soft laptop pocket though.

I use a Dell XT daily in slate mode.
I also close it everytime after using it to protect the screen, although I have a screen protector on it.

Is a tablet made to keep it in slate mode when transporting it? Any ideas?

The ability to get documents signed and sent right back out is pretty amazing. The added bonus of being “paperless” only adds to what to it.
