AT&T offers free pre-paid handsets to Gustav evacuees

GustavKudos to AT&T for following along in T-Mobile’s footsteps. The wireless carrier is offering a minimum of 2,000 pre-paid GoPhone handsets to folks that evacuated away from Hurricane Gustav’s path. Each device has a $15 balance, but may not be that easy to get if you "went the wrong way", so to speak. According to the press release, the phones are available at AT&T retail locations in the greater Houston and San Antonio areas. That takes care of folks that headed west from Louisiana, but what about those that trekked north or east? Regardless, it’s a great gesture and I hope all of our readers in that area are safe, sound and in touch with family.
