Thumbkey- Advanced thumb keyboard for Windows Mobile

ThumbkeyThumbkey is designed to be a sophisticated thumb keyboard for Windows Mobile devices with touch screens.  The proliferation of touch screen devices has created a genuine need for a good touch keyboard that can make the difference between happy thumbing and frustration for users.  The Thumbkey program is based on an advanced predictive text technology that looks at offers the most likely whole words as soon as you start tapping text on the screen.  Where a lot of these thumb keyboards fail is in requiring you to begin tapping words with the correct spelling so they can accurately predict what you are entering but Thumbkey does it differently and in such a way that it might make it more accurate.  According to the developer, Thumbkey simply looks at the general position of your thumbs as you tap letters on the screen and produces a list of likely words not based on accurate spelling on the user’s part rather the general position of the thumbs on the screen.  This means you can mistype the first letters of the word yet still get the correct words in the predicted list as if you tapped the correct letters.  This could be a big difference and it might be worth checking out.  $25 with free demo available.

  • Cootek’s Touchpal keyboard also has this feature (which can be switched on or off). Touchpal can also predict the NEXT word (based on common combinations), so you can get away with typing even less. You can download a free version from http://www.cootek.com

Nothing to do with Cootek myself, other than being a happy customer.
