Laptop Magazine reviews Intel X25-M SSD

Laptop_mag_intel_x25mIntel piqued a lot of mobile enthusiasts interest when it announced its new SSD drives at the IDF recently.  The new SSD drives promised unheard of speeds and since they have both 2.5-inch and 1.8-inch models they can be used in almost all mobile computers.  Laptop Magazine has been testing the Intel X25-M SSD and have published a full review that is pretty exciting.

The IntelX25-M isn’t the cheapest drive around and at 80GB, nor is it thehighest-capacity. But it’s quite simply the fastest notebook hard drivewe’ve seen to date.

That’s a pretty bold statement but they back it up with benchmarks and an analysis of how the X25-M affects battery life, something that has been questioned about SSDs of late.
