Hey Oliver…I got a 3cell for my Mini-note off ebay. It’s some 3rd party OEM battery that fits and works amazingly. It ended up being around $50 with shipping from Hong Kong.

To add to the article, my gut feeling says HP will be extending those rebates well past the 30th to move inventory. I called around a handful of resellers in my area and there are literally thousands of units in stock.

newegg.com has got the base model selling for $349 with rebate. With the price of adding xp or vista, more ram and your choice of hard drive, you just can’t beat that deal.

I’m hoping HP keeps the current exterior design and magnesium casing – it’s one of the trademarks of the unit.

As for the 3 cell battery – HP doesn’t offer it for sale. Only the 6 cell is sold separately.

Brudoff, I on the other hand have been looking for an affordable 3-cell battery for my 2133 (which came with the 6-cell battery…). Good luck finding that one for a reasonable price.

I really like the idea of a 10″ Mini-Note, but the prototype looks like a fashion accessory and therefore may not incorporate much new technology.

January is a long way away in netbook years, so I would expect an updated model in the mid-October to early November time frame for availabilty during the holiday season.

Well, they said a while back they’re going to have two levels, one more expensive than the other so I’m hoping that the sleek finish stays.

but i am still looking VERY forward to HP’s new offering, yes it will be plastic but hopefully they can fit a 10″ screen into a similar size package & go with a Nano or Atom.

it will be nice to have a manufacture out there that can actually SUPPLY their product, right now the only players able to do it are Dell/Asus. the job MSI/Acer are doing is an absolute joke, sure you can find the lousy 3-cell version (because nobody wants them) but finding the 6-cell is like a treasure hunt.
