Blackberry Storm using Synaptics touch screen

Synaptics_logoLots of buzz today about the Blackberry Storm that is coming soon and of all the reviews I’ve read so far one thing in common is the feeling that the touch screen is very well done.  RIM and Verizon have indicated the touch screen is multi-touch capable although it’s not yet clear how that is used with the Blackberry interface.  The screen apparently offers a very tactile feedback when pushing buttons on the touch screen and it has impressed quite a few people.  Laptop touchpad maker Synaptics is letting everyone know that they are supplying the touch screen in use in the Storm and are rightly proud of it.

Synaptics’ clearpad custom module enables two-finger input on the Stormfor functions such as copy and paste, a company spokeswoman said.

Synaptics is also the provider of the touch screen used in the T-Mobile G1, the Android phone due out this month.
