The OpenOffice suite has continued to evolve and the next major release (3.0) is scheduled for official release on Monday.  Sun posted it to a bunch of mirror sites already so if you can’t wait or you want something to do over the weekend then give it a go.  OpenOffice is a very full-featured productivity suite with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, drawing, database and so much more.  The suite is available for Linux of course and also for Windows so if you want a free office suite go get it.
