AT&T outs first 3G Walkman phone: Sony Ericsson W760a
Oh the memories. I remember my first Walkman device (it played cassette tapes) and being able to walk around while jamming to Journey, The Eagles and yes… I’m man enough to admit it: Michael Jackson. Mobile music certainly put a spring in my step back then. Now that we’re in the 21st century, the venerable Walkman lives on, but with more bells and whistles.AT&T is the first U.S. carrier to bring a 3G-capable Walkman phone to the network with the Sony Ericsson’s W760a. The device’s accelerometer comes into play for music controls: you can shake or tilt the phone to fast forward to the next song in the queue. No word on what happens if you moon-walk with this in your pocket, but you can bet I’d try it. Oh, it makes phone calls too, plus offers an HTML browser, 3.2-megapixel camera, and AT&T Navigator support. Sheesh, my ol’ Walkman just played tapes…. and you had to take the tape out to flip it because I didn’t opt for the Auto-Reverse feature.The W760a is available for $129.99 with a two-year agreement and mail-in rebate. All of AT&T’s music offerings work with the new handset: Napster Mobile, eMusic Mobile, Music ID and XM Radio. Plus you can match your W760a with your dancing shoes, provided you have them in red, black or silver.

hi i live in Australia and i dont get why you in the us seem to be going on about 3G? it has been over hear for many years and nation wide and now some provideres are now moving on to 3.5G witch you can get every in the country and can get internet speeds of 7.2mp per sec. why dose the us not have this?
