Google Earth launches for iPhone/ iPod Touch: awesome
Google Earth is one of the coolest functions you can do on any computer. The smooth 3D satellite imagery and the way you can move around effortlessly as you investigate stuff is just unparalleled. The glaring absence of Google Earth on the iPhone has been rectified today as it is now available for the fruit phone and the iPod Touch. I’ve been playing with it this morning, boy where did the time go? It is seamless and flawless, at least it has been for me. There is something so cool about searching for a location and then moving around and having a look at what is around it. There are full details about what you can expect at Google and you can find it at the App Store. Watch out for that tiltometer action, it can make you dizzy. Don’t miss the Wikipedia layer to find out about your destination.

I downloaded it, but I can’t figure out why I need it. Like many iPhone apps, it looks pretty but serves little practical use.
This looks great! Amazing. Makes you wonder what’s next…
It is very slow. The tilt is annoying, giving it a jerky quality as you are holding it, but you can turn off tilt. The ability to spin the map to the desired orientation is nice. The links to local business is nice, but AroundMe is better suited to the task.
hmm I want this for the G1 which I am getting today…
and later Itunes for Android…lol good for google and the iphone
