511eqn0myml_sl500_aa280_1Word has come out that Dash Navigation today laid off 2/3 of their staff (50 employees) and are ending their affair with the hardware GPS units they developed.  They intend to continue offering their software services to businesses going forward.  Dash is the unit that has users networked while driving around so that traffic tie-ups and accidents can be reported in real-time so other users in those areas get re-routed around them automatically.  It’s a very interesting product but Dash may have fallen prey to the one-product company ailment.
