I wouldn’t be surprised if Exxon or some other oil giant has already filed a patent on the technology to restrict it’s development and manufacture. We all know the reason why electric vehicles aren’t on the roads today, and we can thank Cobasys and GM for that one.

Graphite is used as an anode in most li-ion batteries. Replacing it with silicon shouldn’t cost a whole lot if that’s all that needed. Most silicon upgrades only cost 2 grand a pair… wait, what are we talking about?
