Toshiba enters 16 GB microSDHC game
We are regularly reporting on some new high-capacity flash memory card that SanDisk is announcing but today we can share that Toshiba is happily entering into the high-density tiny memory card game. They are going to start producing a 16 GB microSDHC card early next year to augment their current offering of 8 and 16 GB SDHC cards. Competition is always good and for the life of me I still can’t figure out how these companies cram so much memory in so little space.

I have one of the SanDisk 16GB micro SDHC cards with an adapter in Addie, my HTC Advantage X7501. It’s already crammed full of Rhapsody music and Tivo shows. I’m wondering why these companies can’t put two 16GB micro cards in a single miniSD-sized card to get 32GB in one device. And why can’t the miniSD-sized card just BE 32GB? Oh well, such are the vagaries of memory, I guess…..
They can do it for dual micro SDs to MemoryStick. http://videogame.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=00534
Yeah, why *haven’t* they made a 32 gb miniSD card? I can’t believe they can’t put more space in this larger card size.
