Mike, I bought a Levenger’s LapDesk about 2 years ago and I love it. It’s comfortable and raises up a notebook by a few inches. The only downside: it doesn’t do anything to dissipate heat from a notebook, so I find that my fan runs a little more often when using the LapDesk.

sounds like a good environment to work in. I had some minor surgery recently and worked from home for a week. I also found that getting a shower and dressed made me more productive than sitting around in my robe and slippers. My favorite pastime is surfing on my Macbook Pro in my easy chair. I’ve got my eye on a lapdesk at Levenger’s I may pick up. I like to read your stuff online and appreciate the advice you offer from time to time.

I am one of the lucky ones who has had no problems with a 4GB Crucial memory upgrade for my MacBook.

I am experiencing similar problems with Time Machine on a drive that otherwise works fine. I have read similar stories for people using external drives and Apple’s Time Capsule. For me, backups must be reliable – it is something that I hope to never need to use, but it must work when needed. As a result, I have decided to supplement my Time Machine backup with an online backup service. I am currently evaluating BackBlaze and hope that will fulfill my needs.

I don’t want to turn this into a Mac vs. Windows comment, but on the Windows side, I love Windows Home Server as it provides transparent backups that work perfectly and allows me to roll back any file to a previous version similar to Time Machine.

I recently upgraded my ram to 4gb, thankfully, it didn’t give me any trouble. Although I can’t actually use 1gb of it(32bit OS) Based on what you’ve said it doesn’t sound like the 2×2gb sticks are bad. I hope you are able to get it working.
