Coby netbook- oh yes they did apply for a trademark
Remember not too long ago when the word went out that Coby Electronics was going to produce a netbook device? The company stepped in and said they weren’t going to do such a thing. So why did they apply for a trademark? This from a trademark search:

Unfortunately Coby’s application was intially refused on 13 January by USPTO citing section 2(d) – likelihood of confusion with Psion’s mark #2404976
Incidentally MSI’s ‘Wind Netbook’ application was similarly rejected a few days earlier.
