berniej, the 2133 certainly has a VGA connector, and looking at the pics on laptop mag's site, it seems to be true for this one, too:

http://www.laptopmag.com/review/newgallery.aspx?id=24069&img=3

JK/Kevin, the link in the blog post doesn't actually seem to point to anything related to the 2140, but rather to the 2133 product page on HP's website. Maybe they shuffled their pages around?

Did I read it correctly? Does this *really* have a VGA connector, instead of the proprietary connector on the MiniNote 1000?

What's better than a great new netbook is one that's released ahead of schedule!

I'm sold on the 10" 1366x768 screen - forget netbook, this is a damn full-blown mini laptop.
Pimp it out with a 512GB SSD, load up XP until Win7 arrives and blow the competition away.

If the 2133 was the hit netbook of 2008, the 2140 will be the hit netbook of 2009. HP has not only set the bar, they are the bar.

I'll be reviewing this baby at my blog as soon as it arrives:

@Joanna -- of course! That's one of the reasons why I bought the original 2133 - because of the screen resolution. My Thinkpad X60t has a 1440x1050 screen (12.1" I think). Can't ever have enough pixels. The 1024x576 is definitely a no-go for me.

I feel 1024 x 576 is an odd resolution as 1024x600 is already quite low. What surprises me even more is that the HP Mini 1000 gets 600 horizontal lines with the 8,9" but uses the same 10,1" as the new 2140 with 576 lines!

It really is a damn good system. Check out LAPTOP's full review: http://www.laptopmag.com/review/laptops/hp-mini-2140.aspx

Wait do people really want 1366 x 768 on such a small screen?
