pi-iphone-logoI have been using the heck out of Pocket Informant on the BlackBerry Storm and checking regularly to see when the iPhone version might get released.  Good news comes from developer Alex Kac’s blog that the iPhone version of Pocket Informant has been released to Apple for approval to get included in the App Store.  That means it can’t be long now, and this is good news for any Pocket Informant fan.

Alex indicates there will be a free Lite version that is limited to handling a week’s worth of appointments and 10 tasks, so heavy users will likely want the paid version.  No word yet on what the full version might cost.

  • I installed the trial on my Storm, but I just cannot get used to the fact that is not really integrated into the actual BB databases. You have to do the synch to get everything. I have a few more days left to play with it though. I used to use it all the time on my PPC.

  • When I had PI on my TyTN II, I loved it. I was really excited to here it was submitted for the iPhone but after reading the details, it looks like there is no sync for MS Exchange. So, and I could be misunderstanding this, if all my tasks and calender data are through an Exchange server, they basically say you have to sync through Google Calender and then sync to PI. For me, I won’t be giving Google any more of my info than they already have so this is a non starter for me. I guess you could always enter your info twice, seems like a waste of time in that case.
