cadillacwifi-lgThe premise of having Internet connectivity in the car is nothing new and GM joins Chrysler in this regard.  Cadillac plans to offer in-car Internet as an option beginning this April.

Cadillac WiFi, as they are cleverly calling it, is based on a 3G device from Autonet Mobile coupled with an integrated WiFi router. The 3G connection is thus shared with all occupants in the vehicle, along with anyone nearby if unsecured.

The first Cadillac that offers the WiFi option will be the CTS sport sedan and the device will cost $499 with a $29-per-month service fee. The device can be removed and used in other vehicles, extending its usefulness.
