Mini BeBook Reader Reported- 5 Inches of Goodness

We recently told you about the BeBook Reader that has been making the rounds on the web, but word comes today from our friends at MobileRead of a new, smaller version. The Mini BeBook is reported to have a 5-inch screen and is a rebranded Hanlin V5 device. The price is expected to be $200 when the Mini BeBook is released later.

The size of the new reader is tantalizing for portability, but I have to wonder if it’s getting small enough that it might make more sense to just use my phone. I enjoy doing that anyway, but I wonder if the slightly bigger screen is worth hauling another gadget around with me. It sure looks nice in the photo, though.

  • Personally, I’d like to see the opposite: larger ones! The more serious your books are, the more screen estate you need, and every time I read scientific publications on my Sony Reader, I find myself longing for an A3 sized ebook.
