I went to 1 store near west hartford CT, "sold out" but then he admitted they only had *one* to begin with. called 2 more stores from the car, none in stock but they could order and i'd have it in 2 biz days, asked if they could help me figure out a store that would have one (about 3p EDT). found "two" at a store down the road. so off I went. showed up in south windsor CT store, really busy, waited about 15 min, the guy is amazed that I have no questions and just want the MiFi. tell him i've been drooling over it and had planned to buy it on launch day. got a corporate discount and paid $109+tax (still elig for $50 rebate), so $69 for it. turns out they only had *one* as well. what's up with shipping none, one, or two to each store??? and the differing prices on it is also poor planning. When I arrived, I was told I could only order one. In my case I was adding a brand new line. If they had MiFi's in stock only for new data plan I can't even begin to describe how angry this would make me. It's a hell of a way to treat loyal customers.
