Facebook Updated for BlackBerry

I hadn’t realized that Facebook v1.5 for BlackBerry was limited when compared with the app on other handsets (other than the Pre, that is; there’s no Facebook app there just yet). Apparently, you can’t view photos or profiles with the BlackBerry client app, which makes me wonder why a BlackBerry owner wouldn’t just go to the mobile Facebook web page.

Well, it’s all a moot point now. Facebook for BlackBerry is now at v1.6, and it addresses these two gaps. The photo browsing also includes a swank-looking carousel view, shown below. I bet you could get pretty dizzy on the carousel with a BlackBerry trackball.

Back in early March Microsoft released a Facebook app for Windows obile that allows you to;

Send messages to any of the people in your Friends list.
Take pictures and videos on your phone, then upload them right to Facebook.
Send messages or call people in your Friends list.
Manage your profile and post anytime, anywhere.
