OQO Devices Can Still Be Had for Under a Grand
It hurt the whole mobile community to hear the woes of OQO. Last month, the company that helped define the early UMPC and MID markets closed up shop due to financial challenges. As sad as someone’s bad times are, certain folks can find a little happiness in the situation in the form of closeout prices.
GottaBeMobile says that our good buddy Hugo Ortega can still get a handful of OQO Model 02 devices direct from the factory. Prices are ranging from $995 to $1,495, depending on the configuration. If you want a piece of history as well as a pocketable PC, I wouldn’t wait on this.

That’s still a chunk of change for something that can never have any support from anyone.
Very true for most folks. I tend to crack open nearly all of my devices and void warranties, so it’s a moot point for me.
Hmm, I looked into this and the $1,495 configuration is not bad:
1.6 GHZ/1GB/64 GB SSD/HSDPA: $1,495 (MSRP $3,565)
and it includes a leather case and a car charger
I will wait for vilv
There’s practically no warranty on these, something which is vital when the main board fries itself (which it most likely will).
I thought I’d be crying myself to sleep every night when mine died but my new Kohjinsha SC3 (far better value and use than the Viliv thingy) is filling the gap very well.
