My Pre (wallpaper from link in post)

It’s a slow weekend and a good time to share random stuff about the Palm Pre.

App for the Day:  Not a new app but an update appeared today in the App Catalog for Classic. I finally broke down and paid the $30, as I am using eReader in the emulator a lot. This update makes Classic more stable for me.  Not a crash since applying it.

Wallpapers: A great source for Pre wallpapers is this thread in the PreCentral forum. This forum is a great source of community information in general.

  • I would be interested to hear if you do have any crashes in the days to come. I’m still leaning towards not paying $30 for this.

  • Classic has been horribly unstable for me in my two days of trying it. Hopefully you’re having better luck.

I’ve been using the Bookworm webapp ebook reader myself.

I upload the .epub (which is an open-source standard that I convert all of my books to after I remove the DRM) files to the site (http://bookworm.oreilly.com/) and then use the mobile version on my Pre: (http://m.bookworm.oreilly.com/) and so far it seems to be working perfectly.

  • I was thinking of buying Classic since my trial expired right when they updated the application. However, to be really useful, I need the bottom Graffiti area to minimize like it did on the Tungsten T3. The viewable area is just too small for my liking.
