AT&T customers in the San Francisco area have long groused about the poor network coverage in their fair town. I found it abysmal on my trips there and can’t imagine how bad it would be to live there and have such poor service. It would be enough to make me divorce my iPhone. You intrepid iPhonies (other customers, too) in the Bay Area can take heart; AT&T is going to beef up the network just for you.

att_logoThe carrier says it will be lighting up its 850 MHz 3G network by the end of the year. Similar upgrades on the East Coast have brought a vast improvement in coverage and subsequent service, so all of you folks who dropped the iPhone to go with the Palm Pre can take it back before the 30 days are up.
