Viliv S5 HDD/SSD is built on Zif port.
So If you dont have 3G module you better go with 1.8" 5mm PATA Zif SSD and i recommend Runcore

http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=Browse+By+Brand:RunCore:RunCore+1.8+inch+ZIF+SSDs

If you have 3G module then you are limited with the space and you only option would be the Pro PATA Mini Zif SSD

http://www.mydigitaldiscount.com/CategoryProductList.jsp?cat=Browse+By+Brand:RunCore:RunCore+Pro+Mini+ZIF+SSDs

But dont ask me how they managed to put 128GB SSD with 3G Module!! Max Mini Zif SSD I have seen it 64GB

JK, apparently the headphone jack on the S5 supports MICs!!!

Some guy on youtube got it to work with his iPhone earbuds. You have to make sure the jack has 3 rings (like the iPhone). Once plugged in, you have to activate the mic input using the Realtek software and set the input to the highest setting.

I don't know if this has been mentioned before. Tnkgrl created drivers for the Apple usb ethernet adapter. It works really well on the S5.

Does anyone know which SSD drives they are using? I'd like to replace my HDD with an SSD (32 or 64), but the MTRON drives are too expensive at the moment, I'm hoping there's a sub $200 SSD that has better performance than the existing HDD?

Thanks.

Does anybody know if the 32GB SSD model comes with a mini pci-e connector for additional mini pci-e boards (like aopen's hd-tv tuner).
Asking because the bigger SSD models that come with 3G must have it...

Get a 32 SSD first, wait till the price drop, swap to a bigger size and sell the 32 one...very economic.

Dynamism has listed the prices for all of the X70 models now. The X70 with the 1.3GHz processor, 32ssd and 3G is going for $879.

It's an impressive option, but by doubling the price, I think the device's appeal is considerably reduced. I would have preferred a 64GB option - nice headroom for Windows 7, but no so exorbitantly priced.

Note: there's a similar option for the X70, also not cheap...
