Logitech M555b Bluetooth Mouse: Small and Sleek
Those of us who like mice with our laptops know that Bluetooth is usually better than alternatives as it lets us cut the cord. Surprisingly, a lot of portable mice are of the USB wireless variety, and while those are fine, there doesn’t seem to be a rash of the Bluetooth variety. Long-time mouse maker Logitech has stepped into the void with the release of the M555b Bluetooth Mouse.
The M555b looks fairly small, although it’s not the smallest portable mouse around. The scroll wheel works in two modes, hyper-fast to fly through whole documents with a single spin or in a click-by-click mode for paging through them. The M555b is $59.99.

I finally got around to replacing my old Microsoft Wireless Notebook mouse with the Mini Explorer BlueTrack mouse yesterday (on sale at Fry’s for $15 off). It’s not the smallest and has a small dongle, but it feels good in my hands and I love the fact that I can now leave my mousepad at home.
I have an MS Bluetooth Mouse 5000 for my eeePC and it’s a great piece of kit, connects immediately and doesn’t crowd up a USB port like regular wireless mice.
I think Bluetooth mice are not more popular because of somewhat clumsy installation techniques on account of Bluetooth pairing, etc.
Got my Logitech M555B today. Paired instantly with my iMac, no settings, no muss, no fuss. Love this thing.
