Humor: My Palm Pre Now Runs iPhone 3.0!

Pre SyncThe building tensions between Apple and Palm over the Pre’s syncing with iTunes should have clued me in, but I just wasn’t thinking about that this morning. I connected my Palm Pre to iTunes to sync up my music library, not giving a thought to the fact that today is iPhone 3.0 day. That was a big mistake.

I can’t prove it, but I believe that Apple updated my Palm Pre to iPhone 3.0! Now before you blow me off thinking I am crazy, here’s my thought process. I looked at the Pre after syncing it with iTunes today and find the following iPhone 3.0 features front and center:

  • Copy/Cut/Paste: check
  • MMS and A2DP: check
  • Spotlight (integrated search): check
  • Turn-by-Turn Navigation: check
  • Google Maps: check
  • Push Notification: check

If it was only one or two iPhone 3.0 features I would think it a coincidence, but this is just too many. It definitely looks like my Palm Pre is now running iPhone 3.0.

  • I’m going to assume you are the only person in the whole United states of america who got the download way ahead of everyone else. Especially since you have a Pre. Guess apple is a real jerk to deny millions of real iphone users the right to down load until 1pm easter time, but lets you, a Palm Pre user 1st pickings.

  • Well, you could also say, its a phone, it has a numbers, and speaker… and the options to make calls. If you cannot tell the difference between the two devices, you are a fool.

  • lol @ John Stokes

I don’t see how you could have got a few features from 3.0 on your phone when 3.0 isn’t even out yet.

And other than push notifications, doesn’t the Pre already come with all those things?

  • that would make sense except the 3.0 software isnt out yet

  • Thats funny. Whats even funnier are the idiots that left comments about you even got the ‘update’! Are they really that stupid… I guess they dont get the humor that what you are really saying is that Palm Pre ALREADY has all of the features that the iPhone 3 is claiming to be a great add-on!

I dont hate the stupid people… cause they make me look that much better!!

Haha hehe…Basically he is saying haha Iphone users waiting for an update with features that should already come on a basic phone. Really ppl you make me feel ashamed to even own an iphone. Now I am going back to pressing mu update button. Since my brain just got alittle stupider after reading some of these comments.

  • Looks like you got a couple there.

    Pre:
Copy/Cut/Paste: Ooops can’t do that on web pages or emails I just received. Can’t move copy areas as easily as the iPhone.
MMS and A2DP: Ooops no iPod, hmmm I can’t copy and paste web images or images form mail that I received also to mms
Spotlight (integrated search): Ooops its not global/universal search for all app that I have. Not built into the framework. Oh well.
Turn-by-Turn Navigation: Cool 3 major companies itching to provide this for the iPhone
    Google Maps: check
    Push Notification: check

    • Oops palm OS has had OS wide copy/paste since day 1.

Oops palm OS has had ability to save any picture to memory and recall it anywhere else since they put cameras on treos.

Oops. Pretentious apple fanboy unable to see that apple fails at making a functionally current operating system.

    • Google is starting to roll out their own Spotlight for the internet. You can check it out at google.com . It even works on your phone’s browser!
