Apple Updates Bluetooth Firmware
My 13-inch MacBook has been a great workhorse for me with one recurring problem — the Apple Bluetooth Mighty Mouse would lose its connection every so often. Not a major problem, but annoying for sure. The solution has been to manually disconnect the mouse once the MacBook loses the ability to talk to it, and then reconnect it. This is all done through the Bluetooth menu.
That may be a thing of the past, as Apple recently released a Bluetooth Firmware 2.0 update that “provides bug fixes and better compatibility with the Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard.” The update should be obtained through the Software Update feature — if not, go get it.

Came out a couple days ago. Ryan Block has probs with it:

I grabbed on Thursday before I did some BT headset testing and didn’t have any issues. I wonder what BT devices Ryan is having issues with?
James – I’m surprised you (the master of Tech) use the Mighty Mouse
I’ve gone to the Macbook as my main machine, and I went out and bought a Logitech Revolution VX Laser, and it has totally changed my computing experience. Aside from having a more ergonomic shape to your hand, the OSX software it comes with is great for programming everything on it. I have the wheel in free spin mode to blow through web pages or big PDFs quickly with a flip of my finger, I have the wheel set for left tilt brings all windows in Expose, right tilt brings up a fresh Safari page where I can manually enter a site, center button is Dashboard (for my Vonage Dialer), Zoom In I changed to bring up “Things”app, Zoom out= Evernote, Page forward closes a window, Page back will allow me to manually clip anything on the screen to the clipboard. Its bigger than most travel mice, but it does have the receiver that will nest in the mouse I must sound like a commercial…but I can work so much faster on the Macbook now!

Yeah, I’m also not a fan of the Mighty Mouse. Apple sacrificed usability for symmetry and appearance. Better than the puck mouse, but still majorly flawed. I replaced it with a little BT Logitech mouse.
That was almost 3 days ago.
I thought you bought that foldy mouse from Microsoft?
I love my MBP, but I’d never buy the mightily what-where-they-thinking mouse.
I also had problems prior to the BT update and what I was doing before was I clicked on the BT menu and that would connect my mighty mouse back. Now with the update seems to be working.
