Palm Pre Tip of the Day — Add Address to Sprint Navigation Online
I have been upfront about my love for the Sprint Navigation system on the Palm Pre. It use it all the time as it not only keeps me on the best route, it also provides me with real-time traffic information. This has saved my bacon more than once and let me avoid traffic tie-ups. My favorite way to get new destinations into the Pre comprises my tip of the day.
It’s fairly easy to enter destinations into the Pre’s keyboard, but I find it far easier to enter them on my computer and have them pushed to the Pre. That is as easy as going to sprint.com/navigation and logging in with the phone number and PIN number set at Pre activation time.

The screen you see next is a simple “Add Address” screen and that’s exactly what you do. Enter the address, push the big yellow button and the address will be on your Pre in the Favorites section the next time you run Sprint Navigation. You can also manage the Favorites at this web site if you wish. This couldn’t be easier and it keeps Sprint Navigation on the Pre as my BFF.

After your previous discussion of Sprint Navigation, I used it on a recent trip up to Minnesota. It worked fantastically well. I hadn’t tried the web part, so this I’m glad you’re showing this.
This is a great solution, but you guys already gave us an even easier one in on of your old podcasts, the Telenav browser plug in that lets you highlight addresses on the web and send them to your Telenav account (and therefor to the Sprint Nav app on the Pre) with just a couple of clicks.
First register on the TeleNav site (you’ll need to look up your pin number from the Sprint Navigation App on your Pre – launch Sprint Navigation, go to “Share and More, and then “About” and then “Your Pin”).
Register here: TeleNav – Voice directions on your GPS phone
Then download either the Firefox or IE plug in for your PC browser here: “My TeleNav” Browser Plugins
Follow the instructions on the plugin page, it’s not as obvious as you’d think to get the plugin set up in Firefox.
Awesome! It didn’t occur to me to see if Sprint Nav was also accessible via My Telenav. Thanks!
Even more useful is when your spouse or colleague is lost. Push them the location they need to navigate to. My wife calls me all the time (rather than using Sprint’s Call-in address feature).
Of course, they need to have the teleNav application on their device.
This is an awesome tip! Thanks!
