I am happy to report that Junior is now safe and snug at home and doing fine. He weighed in at a svelte 1.76 pounds and is already 9.05 inches long. I am especially happy to report he is already sleeping through the night and going strong during the day. Seriously, the Viliv Convertible S7 arrived just a couple of hours ago and I am just starting to check this baby out.

The model I am evaluating is the 3G model, with a 1.33 GHz Atom, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB SSD and 1.3 MP web cam. I’ll be putting this gadget through its paces but meanwhile here are some quick photos snapped of the S7.

  • OK, I am seriously confused as to the market for this device. The pricing I’ve seen for it appears to be about the same as for the Gigabyte T1028 (or to match the 3G here the T1028X). Yet it has a slower processor and a smaller screen (with resolution to match). So, what features on this device am I not understanding that would make me want to get it rather than the Gigabyte?

  • @EwanG
    s7 is smaller than t1028
why do people buy netbooks/umpcs instead of laptops in the first place?

  • I think I like it better without the keyboard.

Give me the an x70 with the upcoming atom and I think I’m sold.
