l_hs500_bt_headsetThe BlackBerry folks have released a new Bluetooth headset that has an interesting feature. The HS-500 headset does all of the normal Bluetooth headset functions you expect, making hands-free calls, voice dialing, all of that. What RIM has added to this headset is automatic volume control. The HS-500 has noise cancellation, a pretty standard feature, and according to the company it automatically adjusts the in-ear volume in noisy environments. That’s pretty cool. $80.

  • (1) Do you know if the Auto Volume Adjust/Control feature in RIM’s headset can be set from the cellphone as well as the Headset?

    (2) Also, do you need to “turn on” the Auto Volume Control on the cell phone in order to set the Auto volume control from the headset?
