sad to see the ‘classic’ layout go, but excited about the incoming one. it’s like getting a new rom installed on a phone: does the same stuff, but looks cooler

Hmmm… I thought that was on the list of new features and site changes. It was just under “pink polka dot color scheme” and just above “posts in ALL CAPS going forward”.

Usually, I have to be dragged kicking and screaming into any changes. But neither kicking or screaming – I like it!
Nice clean Giga remake. Site seems to be quicker to load.
I like the new colors and layout. I think it will render better on smaller screens also. I will have to try it out on my S5 Viliv.
It looks good on my S5. It really renders well on mobile browsers. On several phones in landscape, I can read everything with no zooming and no horizontal scrolling. Mission accomplished.
Sorry to say this but I hate the new design. It lacks any clear definition of content areas making it hard to see what belongs where. The sidebar just sits there with no defining borders which looks really aweful when the items are differently sized and dont have any natural borders. Very straining on the eye because you constantly try to focus on what part of the page is content and whats sidebar. The giant red ad doesnt exactly help keep things clean. The yellow reminants are just weird as the only really colorful items on the site and everything just looks so…washed out. Almost like when the site has a bug and the css isnt loaded properly. I’m sorry but the site is now borderline unreadable IMO
I have to disagree with Andreas (though of course, everyone is entitled to his or her opinion) – Personally, I love the new design. It seems much cleaner now. The post seem rather defined to me and though the right column does not have any literal lines, I don’t think they are needed since the column defines itself. I am glad to see that hints of yellow stuck around as an ode to the original jkOnTheRun. The only small detail that I would say could be improved is the “Recent; Popular; Network” tabbed section in the right column. The yellows and blues used in the small box seem a little too light and it took me a bit to realize that it was all one box. Small little detail among an otherwise awesome redesign.
That box has a light gray background. Does it not show up for you?

What happened to all the yellow??? I expected more not less
We went for clean readability, especially on phone browsers.
Where are the tags? Where are the category-specific RSS feeds? I feel like the functionality of the site has been compromised. I came here to find out about any new slate PCs, and all I can do is search for the word “slate”. Not optimal.
Those are coming soon, and more. Just hold out a bit longer and you won’t be disappointed.
