I am having lunch at the local Denny’s, enjoying the free Wi-Fi while waiting for my salad. The Lenovo ThinkPad x200 is perfect for this scenario. I have it in slate mode, using the touch controls to surf the web, check email and write this post. Life is good.
Sounds good indeed. From what you recall of the HP 2710/2730 series, how good does the X200 feel? I am looking to replace my 2730P shortly, and the X200 is my top candidate right now.
The x200 feels better, much lighter and easier to hold.
ZINIO!
You spotted that in the taskbar, did you?
Yeah, we did! And could you show us a picture of what Zinio looks like on that longer screen? My Lenovo X60 tablet seems the perfect size, so I’m wondering about the top and bottom margins and is there letterboxing going on or what with the X200 screen…..
Better than that, check out Zinio on this video:

Very nice! Thanks for that demo.
BTW the site actually looks less retarded with ads than without now after the redesign.
I have an x200 and was wondering how the driver support is for Windows 7 (I’m thinking of an upgrade…)?
It runs Windows 7 very nicely. It was preinstalled by Lenovo so I suspect it is the same build that will ship when Win 7 is released.
doesnt it lack the multitouch drivers or something?
Nope, two finger multitouch onboard. Works great as shown in the video linked above.
But James, how do you get the coffee stains off from your screen?
LOL
No coffee, this was lunch. Iced tea.
James — Is it comfortable to hold the x200 with just one hand in tablet mode or is it really a two-handed device? Chippy at UMPC portal says that anything over about 2 pounds gets tiresome to hold in one hand. What’s your experience?
I always rest the tablet on a table or my lap. I don’t really see a reason to try and just hold it with one hand for any extended period. It would get tiresome holding anything that weights 3 pounds or more in one hand.
I know you had issues with using the X200 in portrait with the battery on the left side of the tablet. Will that ever get resolved or is it a hardware issue? Do other tablets have that same constraint?
I am right handed and would like to hold the tablet and battery in my left hand while I write, etc. with my right hand.
Thanks
I’m right-handed also and use my tablet tucked into the crook of my arm while holding the battery in my left hand. Works quite well and my forearm makes for a good holder.
