jkOnTheRun started in May of 2004 as the personal mobile technology blog of James Kendrick. Since then, the site has enjoyed a fast growing audience of readers interested in the latest news and reviews of mobile technology hardware and software. jkOnTheRun is a CNET Top 100 blog and was a finalist in both the Weblog Awards as well as the Readers Choice at TechWeb Network. The site is also a Google News source. The goal of the site is to provide usable information about mobile technology.

About James Kendrick – Founding Editor, Editor-in-Chief

James Kendrick has been using mobile devices since they weighed 30 pounds and shares his insights daily on mobile technology. An avid Tablet PC user, James was recognized in 2005 with the Microsoft MVP award in Tablet PCs; a recognition he still holds, along with approximately 20 others in the world. James is also a member of the prestigious Mobius group; an invitation extended to true experts in the world of mobile technology. James’ writing has also appeared in many print magazines: Smartphone & Pocket PC Magazine, Information Week and Roam Magazine (Australia) to name a few. Not just a writer, James has filmed numerous video reviews and how-to’s that have garnered thousands of viewers.  He has appeared on local news segments and been interviewed by the Associated Press on mobile technology topics.  Additionally, James is a co-host of two weekly podcasts: OnTheRun with Tablet PCs and Mobile Tech Roundup.

About Kevin C. Tofel – Managing Editor

Kevin C. Tofel started his mobile enthusiasm in 2000 with the purchase of his first Pocket PC device. Since then, he has moved through many Windows Mobile devices and began to write and moderate on Pocket PC Tools in 2003. Moving on to a greater audience, he used his HDTV expertise to build the HDBeat website up from scratch for AOL. The site exploded in popularity and eventually became the widely recognized EngadgetHD site just as Kevin moved on. In April of 2006, Kevin joined jkOnTheRun to share information daily on mobile technology. His passion for Ultra Mobile Personal Computers was seen by Microsoft as they recognized him with a Microsoft MVP award in Tablet PC, recognition he has held since April of 2007. Not a stranger to the print magazine world, Kevin has been published in high profile periodicals such as The New York Times, Smartphone & Pocket  PC Magazine, PC Magazine and PC World. He also is a co-host and the producer of the weekly Mobile Tech Roundup podcast, helping to deliver over 100 episodes to an engaged audience. No stranger to traditional media, he’s been interviewed for his mobile expertise by the New York Times and has also appeared on the NBC local news in Philadelphia.
